IDENTITY is a non-profit Art Program that will introduce children to a completely different cultural landscape. Our mission is to demystifying the process of art, art needs to be a tangible matter that can rise new possibilities leading to social integration. Our workshop encourage social cohesion and encounters between cultures supporting under-resourced students with their creative skills. The concept of teaching creativity can be a solution to help the local community. The value that children are different is precious and should be protected. It’s important to inspire young people to gain critical skills and to approach art with confidence developing their own voice through photography. The project aims to involve children of different ages exploring the theme of Identity through analog photography, reportage and visual arts. “The sociological and anthropological studies defined Identity as the individual’s conception of self and society.” ”Identity is the qualities, beliefs, personality, looks and/or expressions that make a person or group, it relates to self-image, self-esteem, and individuality.” Our mission is to create a bond between the children and their different realities through street-photography creating with them a photographic series and an editorial project. We want the children to to have a tangible impact on how analog photography and art is both created and displayed. We live in an era where internet could be about to destroy the language barrier, we want to give them a chance to express their feelings through analog photography, to perceive art as a chance, as a vehicle for emancipation, as a tool to elaborate their feelings in their ordinary life.
